Introducing Podro: upload once, heard everywhere

By Jake Skinner · · 3 min read

Making a podcast is the fun part. Getting it into Apple Podcasts, Spotify and every other app is usually where people get stuck. Feeds, directories, artwork sizes, file formats: none of it is hard on its own, but together it eats the time you meant to spend on your show.
Podro is podcast hosting built to take that work off your hands. You upload an episode once, and it reaches your listeners wherever they listen. Create your account to get started.

How "upload once" works

Podcast apps don't take audio uploads. Each one reads your show's RSS feed: a single web address that lists your episodes. Podro creates and looks after that feed for you.
You submit the feed to each app one time. After that, every episode you publish on Podro appears in all of them on its own, usually within the hour.
The Directories page in your dashboard walks you through each submission, with links and step-by-step instructions for Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music and more. It checks your show is ready before you start, so you don't get turned away for a missing detail. Podcast Index, which supplies many smaller apps, is notified automatically every time you publish.

What you can do with Podro

  • Upload without converting first. Drag in an MP3 or M4A and it's used as it is. WAV, FLAC, AIFF and other formats are converted to MP3 for you. Files can be up to 1 GB.
  • Even out the volume. Tick one box and Podro levels your episode to −16 LUFS, the standard most podcast apps expect.
  • Publish now, later or when you're ready. Save an episode as a draft, or pick a date and time and it goes live on its own.
  • Get your artwork right first time. Podro warns you if your cover isn't the square, 1400 to 3000 pixel image Apple requires.
  • Give your show a home on the web. Every show gets its own website with episode pages and a player, plus an embeddable player you can add to any other site.

See who's listening. Downloads are counted once per listener, per episode, per day, with bots filtered out. You can see how each episode is doing and which apps and devices people use.

New to podcasting?

When you sign up, Podro asks a couple of quick questions and sets things up around you. If you're starting from scratch, the starter kit suggests show names, writes a first description you can edit, recommends a category and gives you ideas for your first episodes. A checklist on your dashboard then tracks each step to launch, from artwork to your first directory.

If you already have a show, enter your details and get straight to uploading.
