How can we help?
Answers to the questions creators ask most.
Getting started
How do I create a podcast?
Sign up and the starter kit walks you through it: tell us whether you are new or already podcasting, then either enter your details or let us suggest a name and description.
What do I need before I submit to Apple and Spotify?
A title, description, category, square artwork (1400×1400 to 3000×3000 pixels), an owner email, and at least one published episode. Your Directories page checks all of this for you.
Can I have more than one podcast?
Yes. Use "New podcast" from the show menu at the top of your dashboard. Each show has its own feed, website and stats.
Publishing episodes
Which audio formats can I upload?
MP3 and M4A are used as they are. WAV, FLAC, AIFF, OGG and most other formats are converted to MP3 automatically. Files can be up to 1 GB.
How do I schedule an episode?
When uploading, choose Publish and pick a future date and time. The episode goes live by itself.
What does "Even out the volume" do?
It levels your episode to −16 LUFS, the loudness standard podcast apps use, so listeners don't reach for the volume button.
How do I add a transcript?
Upload an SRT or VTT file in the Extras section of the episode. Apple Podcasts shows it as captions.
Podcast apps
Why can't I just upload to Spotify?
Podcast apps don't accept uploads. They read your show's RSS feed. You give each app your feed link once and they pick up every new episode automatically.
How long do directories take?
Apple usually reviews new shows in 1 to 5 days. Spotify and most others take a few hours. TuneIn can take up to two weeks.
My new episode isn't showing yet
Apps check feeds on their own schedule, usually within an hour. Check the episode is Published (not Draft or Scheduled) on your Episodes tab.
Stats
How are downloads counted?
Once per listener, per episode, per day. Bots, link previews and apps checking a file without playing it are ignored.
Why don't my numbers match Spotify's?
Each app counts plays its own way. Podro counts downloads of your audio file, the industry standard for comparing shows.

How do I change my password or email?
