This policy explains what personal information Podro collects, why, and what rights you have. Podro is operated by Nova Social Ltd, which is the data controller for the information described here.
Information about creators
When you create an account we store your name, email address and a securely hashed password. We store the podcasts, episodes, audio, artwork, transcripts and settings you upload, and the answers you give in our sign-up questions. We record when you last logged in, and super administrators can see a log of administrative actions taken on accounts.
Information about listeners
When someone downloads an episode or visits a show page, we record the time, the episode, the app or browser they used and their device type, so creators can see how their show is doing. We do not store listeners' IP addresses: we keep only a one-way scrambled (hashed) version, used to avoid counting the same listener twice in a day.
Your podcast's public information
Your show's title, description, artwork, episodes and the owner name and email you enter are published in your podcast's RSS feed and website, because podcast apps require them. Please only enter an owner email you are happy to be public.
Cookies
We use a single cookie to keep you logged in. It is strictly necessary for the service to work, so we don't ask for consent. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Who we share information with
- Our hosting providers, which store and serve Podro (Render, and Cloudflare in front of it).
- Our email provider, Resend, which delivers account emails such as password resets.
- If you use the podcast starter kit, your answers are sent to Anthropic to generate suggestions.
- When you publish, we notify Podcast Index of your public feed address.
- Podcast apps you choose to submit your show to read your public feed.
We don't sell personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and content until you delete them or ask us to. Download statistics are kept for as long as your podcast exists on Podro.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and object to or restrict how we use it. Contact us through your account. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
